Letting go. I guess, in life we have these moments. Times when we KNOW that what's best for us, the only thing that really is an option, are those words 'let it go'. Maybe at least we go through this mental exercise where we tell ourselves we will feel better if we put it behind us. It's the same thing we something gets LOST. On Monday my wedding ring slipped off somewhere - the current version (more on that) is somewhat like the one to the right. Now, I'm still looking for it granted...and I hope it will turn up. But - you start getting that LOST feeling.
So, let me explain current version. I think it was 2005, the trip was to Hooty Canoe, I lost another wedding ring. One like the ring to the left.
This was a beautiful, hand hammered sterling silver band. While digging my hand into a sand-bar that day to float in the river...I felt it slipping off my hand, and it was gone.
Now, let me go back - yes go back a little further. The original wedding band. Lost in 1999 I believe. UW Arboretum. It was spring and Erika and I had taken Cassidy - then 3, to see spring happening. We ran around and dug worms in the dirt...my guess is it was the digging - followed by a snow storm that day - the original (like the last set right, but in mixed yellow and white gold) gone. This one was upsetting for sure.
You know, these were / are all times mixed with emotions, those emotions that point us to 'letting go'. Losing something precious to us hurts. There are a million reactions we can have, and just as many feelings about it...frustrated, sad, angry - the list it's self screams - "Let it GO"
By the way - LOST returns with a new episode on Tuesday May 4th. There are only 3 Tuesday night episodes remaining until the finale weekend of May 22nd. If you want to here some suggestions for DETOX after LOST is gone - head over to After-LOST.com and check out some of the pod-casts.
